Teacher's Aide
Job Description Responsible to:
Executive Program Director & Assistant Director
Job Summary:
Assist Team Teachers and Directors in implementing after school program activities and daily schedule. Weekly work schedules range from 7 to 20 hours.
Job Duties:
Ensure the safety of groups and individuals. Assist Team Teachers and Directors in carrying out daily activities such as: outdoor and gym activities, group and individual projects, homework, snack and quiet time. Participate in program planning and implementing lesson plans with Team Teachers and Directors. Enforce program rules and guidelines while following program policies and procedures. Helping children resolve conflicts - reporting incidents to Directors.
Assist and supervise children with clean up during the program and at the end of the day. Ensure orderliness and security of area and equipment. Maintain cooperative relationships with all school and Program personnel. Be conscientious in maintaining building security and ensuring children are respectful of school property. Discuss children's progress and needs with other staff members. Consult with Directors on discipline problems and any items of concern.
Attend Staff Orientation and complete required training requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned by Directors. The ideal candidate is passionate about childhood development, has the ability to work as part of a team, has experience working with school-age children, has good decision making abilities and the ability to share their interests and creativity with the children. Someone who is responsible, enthusiastic, reliable, patient and compassionate Pay rate: $17.00 per hour
