The Structural Engineer plays a key role in the design, analysis, and delivery of structural systems for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. Working as part of an integrated Architectural/Engineering team, this position is responsible for developing safe, efficient, and innovative structural solutions that align with project goals, client requirements, and industry standards. The Structural Engineer will contribute to all project phases, ensuring designs are both technically sound and architecturally integrated.

  • Under the guidance of a Structural Engineer, perform the design of building structural systems, including development of system concepts, calculations, layout, sizing, material selection, and preparation of technical specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate existing structural systems and to inspect work in progress or completed for conformance with design intent and project specifications.
  • Produce accurate and detailed structural construction documents and drawings using Revit and/or AutoCAD in coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines.
  • Review and respond to design work, Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and other construction-related documents in a professional and timely manner.
  • Execute work in accordance with internal quality procedures, applicable codes, legislation, and industry standards to ensure project compliance and technical excellence.
  • Actively pursue continuous learning opportunities to maintain a high degree of technical knowledge and professional competency in structural engineering.
  • Develop integrated structural solutions to meeting client and code required sustainable solutions.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of safety by working in a safe manner at all times and promptly reporting all health and safety incidents or concerns.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support project goals, team objectives, and company initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering (or related degree) with 4-8 years of structural experience, or associate's degree with 8-10 years of structural experience or related work experience. Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM with working knowledge of MS Office. Active and clear driver's license, including a successful clearance of a Motor Vehicle history check.

  • Licensed New York PE (Professional Engineer).
  • Experience working on K-12 school projects and/or in an Engineering/Architectural Consulting firm.

Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while performing computer-based tasks, attending meetings, or preparing design documentation. Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, printers, and other office equipment. Visual acuity to review detailed drawings, specifications, and computer screens for extended periods. Ability to clearly communicate through speech, hearing, and written correspondence in person, virtually, and via telephone.
