Role Summary The Dietitian performs comprehensive nutritional assessments and collaborates with the interdisciplinary medical team to prescribe, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.

Roles and Responsibilities Serve as the department representative on the interdisciplinary clinical care team, collaborating with healthcare professionals to support comprehensive, patient-centered nutrition care.

Assess patients' nutritional status and needs, including screening for malnutrition and developing individualized nutrition interventions and care plans based on clinical diagnoses and established standards.

Provide inpatient nutrition counseling and education regarding prescribed diets, nutritional supplements, and other nutrition-related recommendations to support treatment goals and patient understanding.

Develop and implement clinically appropriate nutrition plans, including menus aligned with nutritional standards and recommendations for enteral and parenteral nutrition support as indicated.

Support safe and effective Nutrition Services operations by adhering to applicable local, state, and federal safety and sanitation requirements, serving as a subject matter expert for food service management software, and supporting additional departmental needs as appropriate.

Required Skills and Experience Current licensure as a Registered Dietitian Candidates may still be considered if they are eligible to sit for the Registration exam- must complete and pass exam within 6 months of hire Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics Preferred Skills and Experience Master's degree

One (1) year of experience in an acute care setting

Preferred skills are not required to be considered for this role.

Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including production areas and walk-in coolers/freezers

- Rotating to cover both locations as needed:
Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850

Schuyler Hospital: 220 Steuben Street, Montour Falls, NY 14865

Shift: Flex schedule, days, evenings and possible weekends.

Travel: 50% Travel expected for this role between locations noted above as needed
