Purpose of the Position:

This Temporary Research Aide position supports faculty-led research under the supervision of Val K. Warke within the Department of Architecture. The role is mission-critical to advancing and completing an ongoing research project focused on genre theory and its relationship to fashion theory, including analysis of influential designers and historical perspectives.

The appointment is intended to ensure continuity in the final phase of research, building upon substantial prior work completed during the academic year. This short-term, hybrid position will provide dedicated support to bring the research to a successful conclusion, including synthesis, documentation, and preparation of final outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities may include:

* Support the completion of an ongoing research project focused on genre theory and its application to fashion theory and historical analysis.

* Conduct targeted research related to designers, movements, and historical contexts relevant to the project scope.

* Assist in synthesizing research findings and refining conceptual frameworks developed during earlier phases of the work.

* Prepare research outputs, including written summaries, citations, visual references, and supporting documentation.

* Collaborate closely with faculty to ensure research conclusions are cohesive, accurate, and aligned with project goals.

* Organize and maintain research materials, notes, and sources to support final deliverables.

Knowledge, Skills, and

Experience:

* Demonstrated experience in research related to fashion theory, genre theory, art history, or a closely related field.

* Familiarity with critical and historical analysis of designers and cultural movements.

* Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

* Ability to work independently and contribute effectively during the final stages of a research project.

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Experience contributing to academic or interdisciplinary research in a structured setting.

Requirements:

* Prior familiarity with the research topic or direct experience contributing to a closely related project is strongly preferred.

* Ability to contribute immediately with minimal onboarding due to the time-sensitive nature of the work.

* Demonstrated ability to support completion, synthesis, and documentation of research in a short-term appointment.

* Strong collaboration and communication skills in a faculty-led research environment.
