Position: Laboratory Technician I

Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support SUNY Morrisville teaching laboratories. This entry-level role prepares materials, sets up equipment, and assists faculty and students during lab sessions. The technician maintains clean, safe work spaces, follows chemical hygiene and biosafety procedures, and manages basic inventory. Working in a collaborative, student-centered environment, you will help ensure reliable lab operations that enhance learning and campus life.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, label, and organize laboratory materials for instructional use
  • Set up, operate, and maintain basic lab equipment following safety protocols
  • Assist faculty and students during lab sessions, providing technical support
  • Collect, record, and organize experimental data accurately
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of reagents, supplies, and consumables
  • Follow chemical hygiene, biosafety, and campus safety procedures
  • Clean, sterilize, and store glassware, tools, and equipment
  • Assist with sample preparation, disposal, and proper waste handling
  • Help maintain orderly, compliant laboratory work spaces and storage areas
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to support teaching and learning
