Social Worker

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Social Work or Related Field
1-year experience in a residential or outpatient program serving troubled youth
Valid New York State Drivers License (copy required upon initial hire date)
Yearly Physical (required within one month after initial hire date)
Ability to work with a diverse population presenting a variety of cultural, socioeconomic, developmental and sexual identities. Must have the ability and willingness to establish and foster healthy and supportive relationships that acknowledge individual identities and encourage personal growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in social work or related field
3-5 years experience in a residential or outpatient program serving troubled youth

Multi-State Sex Offender Registry (SOR)

NYS OMIG Medicaid Exclusion List
Out-of-state child abuse register inquiry of any state in which the person resided within the last five years (if applicable)
NYS License Event Notification Service (LENS)
Office of Inspector General (OIG)

Must successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000

Hours:

Flexible to meet the needs of the program (40-hour minimum)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing individual, group, and case management family counseling services.

Responsible to provide screening assessments to determine client appropriateness for outpatient services.

Responsible for the treatment planning process and all related clinical documentation.

Responsible for serving as a liaison with Tompkins County DSS to ensure ongoing communication and coordination of services.

Responsible for compiling and updating case records for each client, maintain regular and timely progress notes, and write periodic progress reports.

Responsible for providing clinical supervision and training to program staff, foster parents, and DSS personnel where appropriate.

Responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing program structure, expectations, policies, and protocols.

Responsible for supervising clients in the day to day routines and structure of the program.

Responsible for adhering to the treatment philosophy of The William George Agency and the rules, regulatory requirements, and recommendations of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.

Responsible for the implementation of programming reflective of The William George Agency treatment philosophy at the direction of the Therapeutic After-school Clinical Program Director.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

The William George Agency for Children's Services is located on a 650-acre campus nine miles northeast of Ithaca, in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. It is a private not-for-profit residential treatment center licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) that serves both male and female youth between the ages of 12 and 21, and their families, who present with significant mental health issues, behavioral difficulties, and substance abuse issues.
