The full pay range for this role is $25.00 to $38.00 per hour, and the good‑faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $27.00 to $32.00 per hour. Salary decisions are based on experience, education, performance, internal equity, and location.
Scope of JobUnder specific direction from the site manager and supervision of an experienced technician, this position will assist experienced technicians with conducting maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of wind turbines and/or photovoltaic power and energy storage systems. It will learn and apply EDF Core values: safety, teamwork, respect, passion, transparency, good sense, and accountability.
Responsibilities- 80% – In the field:
- Assist with maintaining company property and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Support a Technician 2 or higher‑level technician by servicing equipment based on type and manufacturer; assist with routine maintenance, new equipment installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Assist with testing electrical components and mechanical/hydraulic systems, collecting equipment data for testing and analysis.
- Work safely under all circumstances; seek guidance for unfamiliar or unsafe tasks.
- Attend required safety and technical training.
- Respectfully work in a team environment and apply EDF core values.
- 15% – Administrative duties: documenting completed jobs, implementing supply orders, completing daily work orders, time tracking, and other required paperwork for the specific project/assignment.
- 5% – Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions100% of the time is spent working in the renewable asset field, with marginal time in the office environment. The position requires work on platforms or skids, wearing personal protective equipment, and repetitive use of legs, arms, hands, and fingers.
Work hours:
8 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week, with overtime and night shifts as required.

- Moderate noise level.
All levels of the organization must be fiscally responsible on the company's behalf.
Qualifications Renewable Energy Technician 1- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0 to 2 years of experience within the renewable energy sector or an equivalent field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in renewable energy or a similar discipline.
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
- Basic understanding of schematics and correct use of a multimeter.
- Familiarity with CSA Z462 / NFPA 70E.
- Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker standards and hold certifications: OSHA 10, GWO Basic Safety Training (BST), GWO Basic Technical Training (BTT), GWO CoHE, GWO Slinger and Signaler, NFPA 70E, and 70B.
