EYFS Teaching Assistant – Part-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from September 2026

This EYFS Teaching Assistant role offers a part‑time, long‑term temporary and ongoing opportunity from September 2026 within a supportive early years setting. The EYFS Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to support children’s learning, development, and care during a crucial stage of their education. The role is ideal for a caring and committed EYFS Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting young children and contributing to a calm, inclusive classroom environment.

Duties

as EYFS Teaching Assistant:
  • Support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Work with individual children and small groups to support early communication, language, and play‑based learning
  • Assist with structured and child‑led activities
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
  • Support daily routines, transitions, and personal care where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and early years staff
  • Observe and share information about children’s progress with the teaching team
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience working in an EYFS or early years setting
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
  • Caring, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and committed to a part‑time, long‑term role
  • Flexible and proactive attitude to supporting learning
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Salary will be paid weekly through PAYE and will depend on experience.
