Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and performance-driven Farm Manager to oversee seed production operations. The ideal candidate will manage planning, execution, agronomy practices, mechanization, harvest, and compliance to ensure high-quality seed output with optimal cost and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Align actual sown area with crop-wise seed production plan.
Ensure timely sowing within the optimal agronomic window.
Achieve targeted seed yield per acre/hectare.
Utilize parent seed (breeder/foundation) accurately and efficiently.
Maintain healthy, weed-free, irrigated, and nutrient-balanced fields.
Complete roguing activities on time and correctly.
Control pests and diseases effectively across all plots.
Comply with certified seed production isolation and field layout standards.
Meet certified germination rate targets for all seed lots.
Ensure compliance with physical and genetic purity standards.
Clear certification inspections without objections.
Achieve high pass rates in Grow-Out Tests (GOT).
Reduce manual labor costs year-over-year.
Increase farm mechanization coverage (sowing, spraying, etc.).
Introduce new technologies or tools annually.
Conduct demonstrations of modern agricultural practices (GAPs).
Harvest plots at optimal crop maturity.
Follow SOPs for drying, cleaning, and storage post-harvest.
Ensure efficient threshing and cleaning without quality loss.
Maintain accurate tagging and traceability of seed lots.
Improve labor productivity (units per worker per day).
Apply inputs as per planned dosage (input use efficiency).
Implement efficient irrigation systems (drip, timed, etc.).
Minimize machinery downtime through proper maintenance.
Maintain daily farm activity logs with high accuracy.
Ensure effective coordination within the farm team.
Keep documentation audit-ready at all times.
Control cost per kilogram of seed produced.
Minimize variance from approved production budget.
Monitor and evaluate ROI from implemented technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field.
5+ years of experience in farm or seed production management.
Strong knowledge of seed certification protocols and agronomic practices.
Hands-on experience with farm mechanization and irrigation systems.
Strong data recording, analytical, and team leadership skills.
