Church OverviewFirst Baptist Church of Jackson is a community of believers located 65 miles north of Mobile in Clarke County. We are a mission‑minded congregation dedicated to following the Lord’s commands and reaching our community with the gospel.
Role SummaryWe are prayerfully seeking a full‑time Lead Pastor to serve as the spiritual leader and shepherd of our flock. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader who emulates Godly character in all aspects of his life—at home, within the church, and throughout the Jackson community. He will be responsible for teaching God’s Word effectively and equipping our members to love and serve God through active discipleship and training.
CoreResponsibilities
- Biblical Preaching & Teaching:
Deliver effective, Gospel‑centered sermons that challenge and encourage the congregation. - Discipleship & Training:
Lead and equip members for ministry, focusing on spiritual growth and local evangelism. - Shepherding:
Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to church members and their families. - Leadership:
Exhibit a strong work ethic and a history of effective ministry leadership.
- Theology:
Full agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. - Experience:
Preferably five years of lead pastoral experience with a proven track record of effectiveness. - Education:
Master’s degree preferred, or currently working toward a Master’s degree from an accredited seminary. - Character:
Must meet the biblical qualifications for a pastor, demonstrating a deep relationship with God and integrity in his family and community life.
