Position: Cost Engineer / Cost Controller

Job Duties

  • Track and control project costs for one or more employer projects.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine total cost.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
Qualifications
  • Some level of higher education and/or more than 3 years of experience implementing project controls methodologies on large‑scale construction projects or a large portfolio.
  • Well organized and detail oriented, with demonstrable skills and knowledge related to the administration and management of project cost control activities and cost forecasting.
  • Firm understanding of how to interpret engineering and construction contracts and ensure adherence to project controls requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to upper management and project team members.
  • Ability to understand and interpret project schedules to forecast costs effectively.
  • Proficiencies in basic computing skills and the use of Excel spreadsheets are a strict requirement.
  • Experience using SAP is desirable.
  • Higher educational degrees in construction/project management or engineering are desirable, but degrees in business, accounting, or finance are also suitable.
  • Must provide verifiable work experience involving cost management and control on large‑scale construction projects or a large portfolio.
  • Certifications from PMI or AACE will set candidates apart.
  • Experience with cost‑loaded scheduler.
  • 3+ years experience.

401(k) Plan: Synectics Inc. Investment Savings Retirement Plan. Employees aged 21 or older may invest on the first enrollment date at least 30 days after employment begins. Enrollment dates:
January 1, April 1, July 1, October 1.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics may award employees a bonus up to $500 for an approved professional certification. The bonus considers the cost of the test(s) and is awarded 90 days after Synectics receives documentation confirming successful completion. Only one bonus per calendar year; only active employees eligible.
