Company OverviewThis position supports a newly acquisition. The site has approximately 16 employees and currently does not have dedicated accounting support. This is a critical, hands-on role to stabilize and manage day-to-day bookkeeping while corporate integration plans are finalized.
The organization is publicly traded and in the process of transitioning from cash-basis accounting to accrual-based reporting as part of broader corporate alignment.
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage all day-to-day accounting operations onsite in Jackson. This individual will serve as the primary accounting resource for the location, working closely with the Finance team and reporting to Kevin, who will help establish priorities and tasks.
This role will be instrumental in bridging financial data from Quick Books into corporate systems (HFM and SAP) and assisting with chart of accounts mapping and integration support.
This is an evolving role as the company evaluates long-term ERP alignment. The position structure may adjust depending on system integration decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping functions for the location
- Process and manage Accounts Payable
- Assist with payroll support (Operations Director currently runs payroll)
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Transition accounting from cash basis to accrual basis
- Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend corrections
- Assist with chart of accounts review, mapping, and system alignment
- Support manual data uploads from Quick Books into HFM and SAP
- Ensure prepaid expenses and other items are classified properly
- Assist corporate finance team with integration-related reporting
- 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting
- Experience working with multiple chart of accounts
- Experience supporting ERP integrations or system transitions preferred
- Exposure to larger corporate accounting environments a plus
- Ability to work independently in a standalone accounting role
- Hands-on and detail-oriented
- Comfortable in a newly acquired / transitional environment
- Able to identify issues and proactively solve problems
- Experience working within growing or acquisitive organizations preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Onsite position in Jackson, MI
