Position: CASCADES OPERATOR - SEASONAL

VACANCY IN JUVENILE COURT Qualifications

Completion of coursework equivalent to the academic requirements of a High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent AND two (2) years experience working in the legal profession or legal setting INCLUDING three (3) years general secretarial and office management experience; or a year for year interchange of defined education and/or experience equal to the minimum number of years required.

Licensing Requirements

Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License or proof of mobility equivalent may be requested.

Essential Duties
  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to an assigned judge.
  • Manage general office operations of the judge’s office or chambers.
  • Oversee and monitor administration of office budget.
  • Train, orient, and supervise staff members.
  • Coordinate meetings and appointments of court staff.
  • Prepare staff work assignments.
  • Maintain and coordinate the judge’s schedule.
  • Act as liaison between judge and attorneys, staff, litigants, other agencies, and the general public.
  • Prepare and compose legal documents and correspondence.
  • Maintain high visibility and confidentiality.
  • Attend court daily.
  • Make travel arrangements and complete reimbursement forms.
  • Attend meetings and seminars when the judge is unavailable.
  • Research and resolve complex tasks.

  • Court practices and procedures.
  • Basic bookkeeping principles.
  • Proofreading.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Drafting formal legal documents.

  • Operating personal computers, including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation software.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other county personnel, officials, and the general public.
  • Communication and interpersonal techniques as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
