Overview

The department provides benefits and services to support military and veteran employees, spouses, and families.
The General Office Assistant-E (GOA-E) provides comprehensive clerical services in all aspects of processing medical record information and files. Health Records is a service department supporting the health care team to create, maintain and locate records for patient care in electronic and paper formats. Record retrieval, transfer, maintenance, repair, data entry and provision of medical record copies for various requestors are major functions of this department and comprise most of the GOA-E duties.
The GOA-E functions under the lead worker oversight from the GOA-8 or is directly supervised by the Medical Record Examiner Supervisor 1 at this location.
- Provide comprehensive clerical services in processing of medical record information and files.
- Support Health Records by creating, maintaining, locating records for patient care in electronic and paper formats.
- Perform record retrieval, transfer, maintenance, repair, data entry and provision of medical record copies for various requestors.
Education:
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
- General Office Assistant 5:
No specific type or amount of experience is required. - General Office Assistant 6:
One year of administrative support experience. - General Office Assistant E7:
Two years of administrative support experience, including one year at the intermediate level.
- Certain positions may require a criminal history background check.
- The Department may screen applicants who have been convicted of a felony in accordance with applicable statute.
- Ethical Standards and Conduct:
New hires complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) and all new employees complete additional online training as part of onboarding. All employees must report any potential conflict of interest. - Accommodations:
