Job Overview
Provides support to the Jackson Office Assistant Deputy Director (ADD), Administrative Assistant (AA), Departmental Analyst (DA) and Senior Executive Management Assistant (SEMA). The role involves assisting with overall planning and direction of State Correctional Facilities assigned to the Jackson Office, completing facility self‑audits, reviewing reports, and supporting various executive and analytical functions.
Responsibilities- Assist the ADD in overall planning and direction of State Correctional Facilities assigned to the Jackson Office.
- Perform facility self‑audits, review facility reports, critical incident reports, post‑incident reports, and complete special projects for the ADD’s office.
- Provide executive support secretarial functions for SEMA; liaise with Wardens’ Offices of 14 correctional facilities, coordinate quarterly meetings, prepare correspondence and reports.
- Conduct professional research and analysis assignments for the Departmental Analyst role; evaluate, assess, plan, develop and implement various departmental programs or services.
Education and Experience
- Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post‑secondary educational institution.
- No specific type or amount of experience is required.
- Provide current evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution and three signed letters of recommendation. Attach these documents to your application.
- Demonstrate ability to use a personal computer and have basic knowledge of spreadsheets and databases in Access and Excel.
- Follow instruction to objectively complete an assessment.
