This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumer Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan’s lower Peninsula. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

Senior Sourcing Manager leads complex, high‑value sourcing initiatives and category strategies, driving cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supplier performance across key spend areas. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, bridging execution and strategy by translating business priorities into sourcing approaches and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders. This position owns more complex categories and leads broader cross‑functional initiatives. The Senior Sourcing Manager serves as a strategic partner to business leaders and plays a key role in strengthening supplier relationships, improving procurement processes and delivering measurable business value.

• Lead sourcing initiatives for moderately complex to complex categories, including developing sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives; conduct spend analysis, market benchmarking and supplier evaluations to identify cost savings and value opportunities; use data to support sourcing strategies, supplier optimization, and performance improvements.
• Execute RFIs, RFPs and RFQs with increasing complexity, driving cost, quality and performance improvements.
• Support the development and evolution of category strategies with a longer‑term, strategic focus.
• Lead supplier negotiations for higher‑value and more complex agreements, including terms, pricing and risk mitigation; manage supplier relationships for key suppliers, addressing performance issues and driving continuous improvement.
• Oversee contract execution and lifecycle management to ensure compliance, performance and value realization; manage supplier relationships for key suppliers, addressing performance issues and driving continuous improvement.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Risk, Business Units) to align sourcing strategies and business outcomes; influence decision‑making Through data‑driven insights, market intelligence and sourcing expertise; provide guidance and recommendations to business leaders on sourcing approaches and supplier selection.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior sourcing professionals; share best practices and contribute to the development of sourcing capabilities within the team; participate in cross‑functional initiatives to improve procurement processes and outcomes.
• Support procurement frameworks, policies and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sourcing effectiveness; ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements and risk management standards.
• Other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.

• Advanced knowledge of the end‑to‑end sourcing lifecycle, including RFx processes and category strategy development.
• Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to manage moderately complex to complex commercial agreements.
