Exciting Opportunity for a Board-Certified Rheumatologist in Jackson, MI Join Henry Ford Jackson as a Locum - Physician - Rheumatology and make a meaningful impact on adult and geriatric patient care. This dynamic role offers a unique chance to work in a collaborative environment, providing expert rheumatologic services such as joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections supported by dedicated support staff.
You ll enjoy a flexible schedule with options for 4 10-hour or 5 8-hour clinic shifts, complemented by a rigorous two-week hospital call (1:2 ratio). This position is ideal for clinicians seeking a rewarding locum experience starting as soon as credentialed, with an anticipated start date of February 1, 2026. This role involves managing 16-18 patients daily in the outpatient setting and handling approximately one hospital-based case per day.
You ll operate within an Epic EMR system at a Level 2 trauma facility, collaborating with a skilled team that includes Medical Assistants, RNs, and front desk staff. Certification in rheumatology and prior fellowship training are essential, along with the ability to deliver high-quality care to adult and geriatric populations.
Required Skills:
Board certification in Rheumatology Fellowship training in Rheumatology Proven expertise in adult and geriatric rheumatologic care Proficiency in performing joint aspirations and injections Strong knowledge of EMR systems, preferably Epic Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills Nice to Have
Skills:
Prior hospital call experience Experience working in Level 2 trauma centers Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling Familiarity with clinical workflows in busy outpatient clinics Preferred
Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Active medical license in Michigan or ability to obtain licensure Minimum of 2 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in rheumatology Other Requirements:
