Manufacturing Technology Adjunct Instructor

Description

Adjunct instructor positions are part-time. Teaching assignments will vary from semester to semester and are based on enrollment. Therefore, there may be semesters where no assignments are available.

Teach courses in various disciplines based on instructor's qualifications.

• Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers.
• Prepare and deliver instructional materials (i.e. syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or online.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Participate in required reporting processes (i.e. grades, participation, etc.).
• Assist students in connecting to college resources.

• Bachelor degree or higher in Manufacturing Technology or the following course specific requirements.
• For MFG 115, 135, 137, 150, 160, 166, 170, 172, 174, 185, 190, 240 and 262:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field such as engineering, architecture, technology, manufacturing, welding, or similar;
    • OR Associate degree or higher and completion of relevant certification (MSSC CPT, SACA, or similar);
    • OR Associate degree or higher AND 3 years documented work experience in industry;
    • OR Journeyman Machinist or similar professional license;
    • OR Five years documented industrial experience relevant to course being taught.
• For MFG 211:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field AND successful completion of FANUC Handling Tool training or similar certification;
  • OR Associate degree or higher in any field AND successful completion of FANUC NOCTI CERT 1 or similar certification;
  • OR Associate degree or higher in any field AND 3 years of documented experience programming FANUC Handling Tool Operations or similar;
  • OR 5 years documented industry experience with FANUC Handling Tool or similar robotic programming software.

Adjunct instructors are not employed directly by Jackson College with the exception of those receiving a pension from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System. A copy of Jackson College's Annual Security Report and Annual Fire Safety Report is available on the JC Campus Safety & Security website. The security report contains crime statistics for the previous three years for all of our campus locations and the annual fire safety report contains statistics for any reported fires in campus housing units and fire safety systems in these buildings.

Additionally, the report contains policies, available resources and information concerning personal safety, fire safety and reporting procedures for both crimes and fires.
