Description
Teach courses in English based on instructor's qualifications.
Positions currently available for in‑person instruction on central campus in Jackson, MI and at the following Correctional Education Program locations:
Gus Harrison Correctional Facility, Adrian, MI
St. Louis Correctional Facility, St. Louis, MI.
Adjunct instructor positions are part‑time. Teaching assignments will vary semester to semester and are based on enrollment. Therefore, there may be semesters where no assignments are available.
Essential Functions- Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers.
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials (syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or online.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
- Participate in required reporting processes (grades, participation, etc.).
- Assist students in connecting to college resources.
- Master's degree or higher in English or an approved sub‑field.
- Or a Master's degree or higher in an unrelated field with 18 graduate credits in English.

Adjunct instructors are not employed directly by Jackson College except for those receiving a pension from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System. All others are employed by EDUStaff, LLC, and will be required to complete EDUStaff's employment application and onboarding processes.
