Overview
Teach courses in various disciplines based on instructor's qualifications. Adjunct instructor positions are part-time with assignments varying semester-to-semester and based on enrollment. Currently open for in-person classes in correctional facilities located in Jackson, St. Louis, Milan and Ypsilanti, Michigan. Candidates must complete a criminal background check in the Michigan Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) and receive clearance to enter correctional facilities.
EssentialFunctions
- Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments and papers.
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials (syllabi, homework assignments, handouts) in person and/or online.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
- Participate in required reporting processes (grades, participation, etc.).
- Assist students in connecting to college resources.
- For General Education/Transfer courses:
Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or subfield, or a Master’s degree in an unrelated field with 18 graduate credits in the discipline or subfield. - Introductory American National Government course (PLS 141) requires a master’s degree or higher in Political Science, Public Administration/Policy, or a Juris Doctorate, or a master’s degree or higher in another field with 18 graduate credits in Political Science, Public Administration or Policy.
