Position Summary
A Master’s degree in Nursing and a current Michigan RN license are required to teach the classroom portion of the Nursing program. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a current Michigan RN license may teach clinicals; a Master’s degree is preferred. For candidates without a graduate degree, a plan to obtain a graduate degree within five years will be created with the Nursing Program Director, and tuition assistance is available.
TeachingResponsibilities
- Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers.
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials (syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or online.
- Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
- Participate in required reporting processes (grades, participation, etc.).
- Assist students in connecting to college resources.
Adjunct instructor positions are part-time. Teaching assignments vary from semester to semester based on enrollment; some semesters may have no assignments available.
