Health​/Physical Education Teacher

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Health/Physical Education Teacher to join our team at JPS Middle School  ideal candidate will inspire students to engage in physical activity, understand the importance of health and wellness, and develop lifelong healthy habits. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and growth.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote physical fitness, health education, and overall well-being.
• Teach a variety of physical education activities, including team sports, individual sports, fitness training, and health-related topics.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their physical abilities and understanding of health concepts.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as sports teams, health fairs, and wellness events.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community members to promote health and physical education initiatives.
• Stay current with best practices in health and physical education and incorporate new strategies into the curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and assessments.
• Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Valid state teaching certification in Health and Physical Education.
• Previous teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of health and physical education standards and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their personal health and fitness goals.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
