Overview
Manufacturing Engineer
Technique, Inc. is a Michigan-based leader in precision stamping, tubing, and welding, serving aerospace, automotive, medical, and food processing industries. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical components, systems, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept through production
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software in accordance with company and industry standards
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure performance, safety, and durability
- Support prototyping, testing, validation, and design verification activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, or field issues and implement corrective actions
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, specifications, and change requests
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering change processes
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 2–7 years of experience in mechanical or design engineering (manufacturing or industrial environment preferred)
- Experience with product design, equipment design, or tooling/fixture design
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works)
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
- Ability to perform basic stress, thermal, and motion analysis
- Modern manufacturing facility environment with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, and vibration
- Noise levels can be loud
This is a full-time non-exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required as needed. Days and hours may vary; flexibility is required.
