Overview
Job Title: Solidworks Tool Design Engineer
Location: Jackson, MI
Responsibilities- Design various jigs, fixtures, tooling, machines, and make changes to custom machines for ergonomic assist applications.
- Spend 70% of the time on design and detailing work behind the tube.
- Dedicate 15% of the time to sketches and rough calculations.
- Allocate 5% of the time to field applications, information gathering, and training.
- Interact with the controls team, engineers, sales, and customers to discuss design issues and status.
- 5+ years of experience in jig, fixture, tooling, and machine design.
- Proficiency in Solidworks.
- Ability to navigate simple calculations involving hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Understanding of mechanical components such as motors, gears, and conveyors.
Skills & Qualifications
- CSWA (Certified Solidworks Associate) or CSWP (Certified Solidworks Professional) certifications.
Our company offers a family-oriented environment with 25-30 team members. The design room is equipped to ensure success despite not being state-of-the-art. The facility is 30+ years old, located in Jackson, MI, and is kept clean with a friendly staff known for their dedication to hard work. The CAD department overlooks the manufacturing floor, and there is minimal travel required, primarily across Southeast Michigan.
Candidates should be prepared to work on their feet for extended periods and thrive in a high-paced, high-volume setting.
This is a Permanent position based out of Jackson, MI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
