Technique, Inc. is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our Jackson, Michigan facility. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical components, systems, and equipment. You will collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to deliver safe, cost‑effective, and manufacturable solutions that meet customer and business requirements.
Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept through production.
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure performance, safety, and durability.
- Support prototyping, testing, validation, and design verification activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, or field issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and change requests.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering change processes.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors on component design, sourcing, and technical requirements as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–7 years of experience in mechanical or design engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with product design, equipment design, or tooling/fixture design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works).
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
- Ability to perform basic stress, thermal, and motion analysis.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Comfortable working in a modern manufacturing facility environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noise.
