You will support the US Army's Ground Vehicle Systems Center located on site in Warren, MI. The technician will assist senior personnel and engineers in the deployment, operation, and testing of mobile water purification units to ensure tactical water purification equipment meets operational readiness, water quality, and safety standards. The primary objective is to evaluate the performance of mobile systems in producing potable water from fresh water sources under simulated field conditions.

• Assist in the setup, calibration, operation, and tear-down of mobile water treatment systems during testing phases
• Collect water samples and perform basic chemical and physical analysis (e.g., pH, turbidity, chlorine residual, total dissolved solids) under supervision
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on pumps, reverse osmosis membranes, multimedia filters, hoses, and generators associated with the water treatment units
• Record operational metrics (pressure, flow rates), test results, and maintenance actions accurately into facility logs and digital databases
• Adhere to all facility safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and SOPs during testing evolutions

• Associate's Degree or other 2‑year technical degree in a related discipline and 0 years of experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with standard hand tools. Ability to read and follow detailed technical manuals and test plans
• Must be able to attain a US DoD Secret security clearance (therefore must be a US Citizen)

• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. This role requires frequent bending, kneeling, and standing for prolonged periods on concrete or uneven terrain
• Work is performed both indoors and in a laboratory/warehouse setting and outdoors, in varying weather conditions during mobile system field testing
• Mandatory use of PPE including safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection when operating heavy machinery

The listed salary range for this role is $36,920.00 - $45,000.00.
