Salary range: $113,000 – $165,000 annually (general guideline). Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Position OverviewStrategic quality leader accountable for developing, optimizing, and governing quality systems and processes that serve internal and external stakeholders. Provides high level technical direction to Quality Engineers and Operations teams across the Jackson facility and other Eaton locations. Ensures seamless alignment with customer, industry, and internal requirements tied to contractual obligations. Leads cross site integration of Quality System processes, leveraging best practices to drive consistency, compliance, and operational excellence.
Champions talent development by coaching, mentoring, and training quality engineering and hourly team members to strengthen organizational capability.
- Execute overall strategy with minimal supervision.
- Oversight for all first, second, and third‑party audits.
- Establish, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards that align with Aerospace Quality System requirements and Eaton's internal objectives.
- Establish targets for Eaton‑Zero Defect Plan (EZDP).
- Responsible for quality contract reviews and implementation.
- Lead and provide technical counsel to cross‑functional teams and/or Leadership.
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements, address quality concerns, and support issue resolution.
- Lead second and third party audits.
- Oversight of escape management activity (Point Brief, PIC, RCCA, etc.).
- Global RCCA communication and lessons learned sharing.
- Monitoring and directing Return Material Processing to assure healthy queues are maintained while also identifying potential improvement projects.
- Repair Station (FAA Part 145).
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- 7 years of quality experience.
- 2+ years of experience with coaching and development of others.
- AS9100 Lead Auditor Certificate or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
- Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, political asylee or refugee).
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and into the future.
- No relocation benefit; only candidates currently residing within 50 miles of Jackson, MI (active duty military exempt).
- Graduate Degree.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification.
- 5+ years in Aerospace Manufacturing.
- ASQ CQE or CMQOE.
- EQMS Auditor Training and Certification.
- Experience with UAW contract and following proper protocol.
- FAA regulations pertaining to TSO/PMA, Repair Station (FAA Part 145).
- Ability to read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and specifications.
- Knowledge in Calibration (ISO 17025).
- Core tools.
- Strong Root Cause Corrective Action tools.
- Subject Matter Expert of AS9100, NADCAP and Six Sigma principles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
