Project Civil Engineer

Job Description

Work with a team of engineers and architects to develop complete site/civil designs. You will be a key player in the design and management of the project to completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibility:

• Complete site/civil design for commercial and residential developments from concept/study phases through construction documents, including grading, utilities, drainage, storm water management, sediment and erosion control, permitting, and regulatory approval.
• Preparation schematic design (SD), design development (DD), and construction documents (CD) phases for planning site plan approval.
• Review and interoperate local, state and federal ordinances, regulations, and laws regarding proposes project’s in order to ensure design compliance and to complete required documentation and applications needed to obtain approvals and permits. (Row permits, Erosion Control permits, MDEQ permits, etc)
• Work with team of other engineers and architects to create complete development plans

Necessary skills:

• Technical and mathematical skills to complete various design elements for site/civil engineering
• Proficiently using:
  AutoCAD Civil3D, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to learn and use EPA SWMM, Autodesk, Storm and Sanitary Analysis or other similar hydraulic modeling software.
• Ability to learn and use Infaworks or similar 3D rendering software
• Ability to learn and use AGL 32 or similar software for lighting and photometric design.
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repair of site facilities and other structures.
• The ability to understand ideas presented in verbal or written manner and act on them
• Self-starter, highly motivated, team player with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to regularly work on multiple projects at one time.
• Advanced critical thinking skills; the ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Ability to communicate technical issues effectively in written and verbal forms
