Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Process Control and Quality Manager is a critical leadership role focused primarily on building and sustaining strong process control systems while also driving disciplined quality management. This role is designed for a leader who is passionate about process stability, data-driven decision making, and preventing issues before they occur, rather than simply reacting to defects.
At the Certain Teed Jackson MI vinyl siding plant, you will lead the integration of Quality Management System (QMS) fundamentals with advanced process control strategies to ensure consistent, capable, and stable manufacturing performance. Your work will directly impact defect reduction, yield improvement, and long-term process robustness in a continuous manufacturing production environment.
The Role
The Quality & Process Control Manager leads the integration of quality and process control systems at the Jackson vinyl siding plant. This role is accountable for building a high-performing team, deploying Certain Teed's Quality Management System (QMS), and ensuring stable, capable processes that consistently deliver high-quality, sustainable building products.
A critical component of this role is establishing robust process risk management and control strategies, including ownership of PFMEA, Control Plans, and NPD quality integration in managing variability from recycled composite materials. Developing and advancing Quality & Process Control roadmap.
Essential Functions:
* Build & Lead the Organization
Establish a cross-functional quality and process control team with clear ownership, standard work, KPIs, and tiered daily management. Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and prevention.
* Own Process Control & Risk Management
Deploy and sustain PFMEA and Control Plans; translate risks into effective controls, alarms, and response plans. Ensure controls remain active, relevant, and continuously improved.
* Drive Process Stability & Performance
Lead SPC, parameter control, and automation strategies to reduce variation and improve yield, throughput, and line stability.
* Strengthen QMS & Digital Integration
Ensure QMS effectiveness across the full value stream. Lead audits, CAPA, MSA, and data system integration to support real-time decision-making and performance management.
* Improve Quality & Reduce COPQ
Lead structured problem-solving (DMAIC, 8D), convert customer feedback into process improvements, and drive key metrics (yield, scrap, capability). Embed learnings into standards, controls, and training.
