Sustaining Contract Engineer
Eaton's Aerospace division is seeking a Sustaining Contract Engineer in the Jackson, MI location. Eaton Aerospace is looking for a highly motivated Engineer to support the Specifications Review team. This role will be responsible for requirements management oversight of our extensive conveyance product line and will work with a cross-functional team to ensure timely review and contribute to smooth resolution of any identified discrepancies.
Key tasks include review of customer requirements for compliance, identification of specification discrepancies and support resolution or corrective actions.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct requirements compliance review of existing design against customer specifications
- Identify and implement variation documentation allowing deviations to engineering data or correction to current engineering documentation
- Coordinate with cross-functional Team for recommendations based on compliance to customer requirements and design intent
- Support process improvement and digitalization initiatives
Qualifications:
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required with minimum 3 years in an Engineering position. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Four years or more experience in Aerospace Engineering or specification review. Familiarity with Aerospace industry standards (DO-160, MIL-STD, etc.) and experience working in an FAA approved manufacturing facility Proficiency in Product Data Management systems for document control and workflow management (ENOVIA is a plus) Understanding of fluid conveyance related products, manufacturing techniques, and material science Experience with digital tools for streamlining administrative processes.
Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team.
