Senior Bookkeeper

A great UHY client is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with full-scope accounting, including AP, AR, and general ledger management, and will be comfortable supporting both financial reporting and day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.

The Senior Bookkeeper role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire role.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, and general ledger
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions
• Manage cash, banking activity, and intercompany balances
• Track budget vs. actual results and report variances to senior leadership
• Prepare monthly financial statements in coordination with external CPA
• Maintain strong internal controls and accurate financial records
• Support audits and required local, state, and federal filings
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
• Communicate with vendors and customers regarding billing and payments
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

Senior Bookkeeper Secondary Responsibilities

• Provide general office and administrative support as needed
• Assist with scheduling, document management, and internal coordination
• Support leadership with basic reporting and spreadsheet preparation
• 3+ years of accounting experience including AP, AR, and general ledger
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in a small to mid-sized organization preferred
• Manufacturing or cost accounting experience a plus
