Overview
Radiologic Technologist-Computed Tomography
Role: CT Technologist to join the medical imaging team. This position involves performing specialized CT radiology procedures to support diagnosis and patient care in a fast-paced environment while utilizing modern imaging technology.
Responsibilities- Patient Interaction:
Explain CT examination procedures, ensure patient preparation, and provide clear instructions for comfort and understanding during the process. - Clinical Procedure:
Review requisitions, assess patient medical history, and perform CT imaging procedures to achieve diagnostic-quality results. - Equipment Setup:
Prepare the CT equipment and procedure room, ensuring necessary supplies are stocked. - Imaging:
Operate the CT scanner, adjust equipment settings as needed, and analyze anatomical structures for accurate results. - Contrast Administration:
Administer intravenous contrast media with power injectors, monitor for reactions, and provide immediate care when necessary. - Assistance with Sterile Procedures:
Assist Radiologists during complex diagnostic procedures (e.g., biopsies) using sterile techniques. - Radiation Protection:
Apply ALARA principles, shield patients appropriately, and select safe equipment settings to minimize exposure. - Data Management:
Ensure high-quality image delivery to PACS, resolve image exceptions, and maintain RIS records. - Collaboration and Communication:
Maintain strong communication with team members and patients and uphold customer service standards. - Documentation:
Complete necessary medical and radiology information system documentation to support clinical and billing functions. - Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Associate Degree in Applied Science in Radiology. - Certification & Licensure: BLS certification from the American Heart Association; ARRT registration with advanced CT or registry-eligible.
- Experience:
Minimum of 2 years as a CT Technologist in a hospital or clinical setting. - Skills & Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; commitment to teamwork and customer service excellence; willingness to obtain training for peripheral IV insertion. - Additional
Experience:
Experience in a mobile unit setting or with specialized patient populations.
- On-site position at a medical center or hospital; potential for mobile unit work at various facilities.
- Full-time, on-site role with occasional patient transport duties.
- Location:
Michigan;
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–2:30am. - Contract:
13 weeks with potential for extension.
