The Clinic Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and daily operations of the clinical practices. Displaying a high degree of initiative and independent judgement, the clinic supervisor continually directs and assesses a wide range of departmental functions including physician relations, support staff management, customer service, process improvement, quality, and safety initiatives.
The Clinic Supervisor collaborates and coordinates efforts with other leadership to achieve success in the day-to-day operations and the mission of the Center for Family Health. It is the responsibility of the Clinic Supervisor to guide and facilitate their staff in meeting all job expectations and required compliance.
The Clinic Supervisor is expected to work in a team-based environment where the approach is a whole person care approach that engages the patient in their health care and requires all team members to be effective and supportive communicators. A high degree of integration and collaboration is required to meet the varying and changing needs of our patients.

Supervision and Leadership
- Provide organization, direction and staffing according to the needs and goals of the department and practice.
- Interpret updated policies and procedures for staff with emphasis on compliance and accountability.
- Collaborates with providers on clinical services. Participates in interdisciplinary planning for meeting patient care and customer service objectives.
- Establish work schedules and assignments for staff and providers, according to workload, space and equipment availability.
- Ensures smooth daily operations and steady progress towards established goals through open and effective communication with all members of the staff.
- Under guidance from human resources, selects, promotes, disciplines and terminates staff within the guidelines of the CFH policies and procedures.
- Trains and evaluates work activities of staff directly or through collaboration with clinical educator.
- Address performance issues consistently, promptly and appropriately.
- Maintains a safe patient and work environment.
- Responds to and handles patient complaints. Demonstrate sensitivity and empathy towards patients and their care.
Quality
- Assist in designing, implementing, and carrying out continuous quality improvement programs and activities.
- Conducts quality assurance activities through reviews, meetings, reports and observation of results, according to professional practice standards and regulatory compliance.
- Participates in quality assurance, quality improvement and utilization review activities and makes recommendations to the quality director for plans of correction and improvement.
Management and Compliance
- Coordinate clinic operations and patient care in order to maintain productivity expectation and efficient operations of clinic.
- Promote practices consistent with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Financial Accountability. Plan and operate within the approved budget.
- Assist with patient care and education as needed, filling in for direct reports in their various roles.
- Enters and verifies payroll and timekeeping data.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructions.
- Work collaboratively with leadership staff and Human Resources.
Education/Training/
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years clinical patient care experience required.
- Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Must have demonstrated leadership ability.
- Must have BLS certification or the ability to attain one.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position. On occasion, the Clinic Supervisor may need to be onsite for an emergency issue or comply with a deadline for compliance or regulatory purposes which may require additional hours of work over customary business hours. May be required to participate in on‑call process.
