Position: Manager of Rehab Services - Full Time - Jackson

General Summary

Under the direction of the Rehabilitation Director, this position manages operations and personnel within the assigned therapy service delivery regions or sites. Serving as a member of the management team of Rehabilitation Services, the role sustains regulatory compliance, improves clinical rehab service delivery, and promotes staff clinical skill development. The incumbent may act for the Director in their absence.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Directs, guides, and supports the site/service supervisor in the performance of their duties and in managing each rehab site.

Plans, organizes, and monitors each site's overall operational activities in conjunction with the respective supervisor, covering patient care, front desk functions, environmental/building issues, and regulatory compliance.

In sites without supervisors, provides staff with direct assignment of patient caseload, delegates tasks, assesses staffing plans, and adjusts staffing as needed.

Has overall responsibility for the management of all Rehabilitation staff within the assigned region. Assists in interviews and hires for all job postings, completes performance reviews of supervisors, and provides input for other staff reviews. Provides support for staff development; assists in progressive disciplinary action, remediation plans, and performance improvement plans, and terminates subordinates as indicated.

Develops policies and procedures for the Rehab Service Line.

Ensures team members comply with quality assessment monitors, departmental policies, and procedures.

Assists in complaint resolution and staff incident reporting/resolution as necessary. Maintains standards of service excellence.

Works as a liaison with medical staff, HFHS management, medical center administrators, and staff to promote quality patient care and program development.

Collaborates with the Director on business growth plans, new site planning, and site relocations.

Monitors staff productivity and financial performance relative to targets and budget. Provides regional input for revenue and expenses in budgeting.

Assumes service line responsibility for:

Operational issues
Regulatory compliance, standards of practice, and state law; staff training and education
Student programming
New clinical programs, protocols, and delivery sites

Represents Rehabilitation Services at community and/or professional functions. Performs other duties as needed.

Performs patient treatment duties as a Physical or Occupational Therapist as desired; not required for the job title.

Education/Experience Required

Physical Therapist Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of experience OR Master's/Doctorate degree from a CAPTE accredited program, OR Occupational Therapy Bachelor's from an ACOTE accredited program, OR Speech and Language Pathologist Master's from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Five (5) years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech and Language Pathologist.
Advanced degree in Business or Management preferred.
Experience in a leadership role required.

Certification/Licensures Required

Current State of Michigan licensure.
Current CPR certification.
