HII Mission Technologies is hiring a Linux System Administrator/Dev Ops Engineer (Infrastructure Operations) to support Ground Vehicle Systems Center infrastructure. The role focuses on administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in a DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) environment, building and automating Linux‑based infrastructure for software development, build, and testing.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Document infrastructure
- Debug complex system interactions
- Own end‑to‑end infrastructure
- Containers and Dev Environments
- Build and maintain container images
- Debug containerized applications
- Support build/test pipelines using containers
- Understand container networking and storage
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Write and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles
- Build idempotent infrastructure automation
- Automate operational tasks and diagnostics
- Troubleshoot performance, service failures, and networking issues
- 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 1 year with a Master’s, or high school diploma with 7 years of experience
- Practical experience with Docker or OCI container ecosystems
- Administration of Linux systems in production or engineering environments
- Strong command‑line Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL, Rocky, Debian)
- Hands‑on Ansible automation experience
- Automation scripting in Bash and/or Python
- Familiarity with Git‑based infrastructure workflows
- Experience troubleshooting system, networking, and service‑level issues
- Experience managing systems via CLI without GUI tools
- Knowledge of systemd, networking configuration, storage/file systems, package management, SSH, and secure remote administration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and US citizenship required
- DOE requirement to be certified as a Linux administrator under DoD standards
- Existing Secret clearance
- Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills
- Automation and repeatability mindset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective collaboration with software engineers
- Hands‑on approach to building and maintaining infrastructure
- Experience with AWS and Terraform (desirable)
- Experience with Kubernetes (plus)
