Operations Manager
A great UHY client is seeking a President to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on, strategic executive with strong regulatory, operational, and financial leadership experience, and a proven ability to scale organizations in a highly regulated environment.
The President role is an onsite position, working 5 days per week in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
President Responsibilities- Set and execute the overall company strategy while ensuring strict regulatory compliance in a highly competitive and regulated industry.
- Lead annual and multi‑year strategic planning processes and present strategic recommendations to ownership.
- Develop operating plans, capital plans, and expansion roadmaps aligned with growth, profitability, and risk management goals.
- Serve as the senior executive responsible for license stewardship, renewal timelines, and maintaining regulatory good standing.
- Oversee responses to audits, inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions.
- Ensure full compliance with all state regulatory requirements, tracking systems, and local municipal ordinances.
- Own revenue management, budgeting, forecasting, financial KPIs, cash flow management, payroll, and AP/AR oversight.
- Drive margin optimization, cost discipline, and pricing architecture.
- Collaborate with internal bookkeeping and external CPA partners on monthly financial preparations.
- Implement continuous process improvements to increase top‑line and bottom‑line performance.
- Ensure financial discipline, operational efficiency, and strong internal controls.
- Make real‑time business decisions to protect assets, inventory, and revenue.
- Act as a financial steward, balancing growth, profitability, and operational investment.
- Direct and integrate leadership across cultivation, processing, and retail operations.
- Establish KPIs and accountability frameworks for yield, potency, labor efficiency, COGS, SG&A, and sales.
- Ensure SOP standardization, quality control, and operational scalability.
- Improve inventory management, yield optimization, and supply chain resilience.
- Conduct regular site visits to operational and retail locations to ensure compliance, operational consistency, and sustained sales growth.
- Build and lead a high‑performing management team with strong accountability and ownership culture.
- Oversee managerial hiring, performance management, development, and succession planning.
- Ensure alignment between leadership, employees, and ownership.
- Guide brand strategy and product portfolio development.
- Manage retail sales strategy, including pricing, promotions, and market positioning.
- Monitor competitive landscape, including pricing trends, product offerings, promotions, and regulatory shifts.
- Oversee HR‑related matters including staffing, employee relations, workplace issues, and incident response.
- Serve as a hands‑on problem solver across legal, HR, compliance, and operational challenges.
- Exercise sound judgment in handling complex HR or legal matters and elevate to counsel when appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management, or a related field required.
- 10+ years of experience as a President, General Manager, Operations Director, or senior executive.
- Proven ability to lead, scale, and optimize complex, multi‑vertical organizations.
- Strong strategic mindset with execution discipline; decisive, data‑driven, and accountable.
- High‑integrity, compliance‑oriented leadership style.
- Comfortable operating in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
- Experience implementing process‑improvement frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement.
- High emotional intelligence with strong communication, leadership, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Deep understanding of risk management, governance, and compliance.
- Self‑starter with a proactive, “go‑getter” mentality and strong operational ownership.
- Willingness and ability to work onsite full‑time in a hands‑on leadership capacity.
- Prior senior leadership experience in consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, agriculture, or other operationally intensive industries.
- M&A, restructuring, or turnaround experience.
- Proven track record of executing strategy and driving measurable business results.
