Warehouse Supervisor; Night Shift

Certain Teed Siding, a division of TOP GLOBAL EMPLOYER Saint‑Gobain, has an excellent opportunity for a Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor at our Jackson, MI plant.

Supervises the daily activities of all warehouse, shipping, receiving and inventory management functions to include labor scheduling, storing, shipping, space management/cycle counting and housekeeping. Supervision of warehouse personnel to attain a high degree of efficiency and provides key leadership to safety, quality, housekeeping, and cost reduction while promoting positive employee relations within the warehouse team.

Consistently and equitably enforces plant rules, holding crew members accountable for all facets of their jobs. The supervisor is held accountable to ensure warehouse activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, legal and company policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with SGC Certain Teed LLC Principles of Conduct and Action.

This position is on the Night Shift working from 6 PM to 6 AM on a rotating schedule 2/2/3. Must be able to work occasional weekends as part of the rotational schedule.

• Directly supervise the hourly warehouse employees' activities pertaining to material management, equipment problems, truck loading, truck traffic, housekeeping, cycle counting, and inventory management. Lead shift safety meetings to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and health policies, procedures, and practices. (25%)
• Communicate and document employee expectations and assess performance. Provide coaching and development opportunities; administer disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed; assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees. (20%)
• Oversee the training of warehouse employees to ensure they receive adequate instruction prior to operating forklifts and other motorized equipment, following standard operating procedures and work instructions. (15%)
• Understand and perform cycle count activities; ensure all inventory locations are accurately maintained with the correct inventory to support shipping documents. First‑in, first‑out is the priority. (15%)
• Ensure solid communication between truck drivers and warehouse employees at all times. (10%)
• Assist in performing root‑cause analysis and implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to warehouse activities. (5%)
• Maintain workplace organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas; assure warehouse lighting infrastructure is operational for efficiency and safety. (5%)
• Review and approve employee time in the UKG time‑keeping system and ensure employees are paid the correct hours and wages in accordance with site pay policies and procedures or collective bargaining agreements. (5%)
• Investigate EH&S incidents—injuries, near misses, first aid, environmental and property/equipment damage; conduct EHS and SMAT audits to support the plant's EHS goals; ensure adherence to waste management and recycling responsibilities; participate in incident & near‑miss investigations and determine root cause and corrective actions.

• 2‑year degree preferred (equivalent experience may be considered)
• 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience
• Powered Industrial Truck License (forklift, combi, shrek) 2 months required
• General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001) required
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma a plus – preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – required
• Proficient in use of MS Office (familiarity with UKG and SAP systems) – preferred
• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution – required
