Overview
The Storekeeper - SPV-1 is a first line level supervisor with responsibility for the overall day to day operations of the Jackson Complex Warehouse, and timekeeper. This position has direct supervisory contact of prisoners from a State Correctional Facility, supervising prisoners during the performance of duties, enforcing facility rules, and participating in the disciplinary process. The work location is the Jackson Complex Warehouse.
The employee is required to complete 40 hours of mandatory annual training due to prisoner contact and supervision.
- Oversee daily operations of the Jackson Complex Warehouse and timekeeping activities.
- Direct supervisory contact with prisoners from a State Correctional Facility (Level
1) at all times during duties. - Supervise prisoners during performance of duties and enforce facility rules.
- Participate in the disciplinary process as appropriate.

ExperienceFive years of experience equivalent to a Storekeeper, including three years equivalent to a Storekeeper E6 or two years equivalent to a Storekeeper 7.
Background and EligibilityThe Department of Corrections may screen out job applicants who have been convicted of a felony in accordance with Public Act 191 of 2017. Applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony are ineligible for employment until satisfactory completion of any sentence imposed, including parole or probation.

New hires to the MDOC, and returning MDOC employees after more than two years away, will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) with 40 or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on offender contact and job classification. All new employees will complete additional online training as part of NCNET. Travel for training may be required overnight.
