Senior Tool & Die Maker

Certain Teed’s Design/Build (MEG) Group is looking to hire a Senior Tool & Die Maker in Jackson, MI.

Under the supervision of the Design/Build Leader, the Senior Tool & Die Maker is accountable for the safe and efficient machining and assembly of high-quality tooling, fixtures, and fabricating equipment. Other responsibilities include assistance with quality control, job order entries, schedule maintenance, and producing print packages for peer machinists.

Essential Functions

• Tooling and equipment machining for multiple Certain Teed businesses, utilizing mills, lathes, grinders, and other common machining equipment.
• Quality Control for tooling produced by the Jackson Development Center Machine Engineering Group.

Required Qualifications

• Journeyman’s Card within Tool & Die required; 5-7+ years of experience within a Tool & Die operation preferred.
• A thorough understanding of machining, and tool and die making required.
• An understanding of the strengths and capabilities of various metals required.
• Be familiar with standard equipment; lathe, mill, grinder, etc. required.
• The ability to analyze, interpret and comprehend technical drawings and have practical math skills required.
• Knowledge of programming and operating the EDM and/or CNC machines is helpful.
• A familiarity with extrusion processes is helpful.
