Assignment Type: Temporary to Perm (opportunity to extend or go permanent based on business needs)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Work Setting: On-site | Inpatient Behavioral Health
Department: General Adult Behavioral Health Unit
The Registered Nurse provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care within an inpatient behavioral health setting. This role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while ensuring effective communication, patient safety, and therapeutic outcomes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of high-quality, compassionate patient care
- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and education
- Formulate and implement effective nursing care plans within the assigned unit/department
- Communicate pertinent patient and family information to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Participate in identifying variances from patient goals and implementing appropriate solutions
- Perform a wide range of professional nursing services in accordance with established standards
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation:li>
- Support a safe therapeutic environment, including behavioral health interventions as required
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient behavioral health nursing experience
- Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop effective nursing care plans
- Ability to manage and deliver comprehensive nursing services
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare personnel
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment
- De-escalation training (Welle)
- CPI training
- Recipient Rights training
- Experience with seclusion and restraint use
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
