Job Description
Schedule: 4 10-Hour Shifts from 6:30am-5pm;
No weekend or holiday requirement

Preferred Experience: Previous experience in pre- and post-operative care.
GENERAL
SUMMARY:
Provides clinical leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care in the pain clinic setting. Applies the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to develop individualized care plans and patient education. Collaborates effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and principal investigator when appropriate, while maintaining clinical competence and independent judgment.
- Assess patient conditions, pain levels, and medical histories to inform comprehensive nursing care plans
- Implement evidence-based nursing interventions and pain management strategies in accordance with physician orders
- Educate patients and families on pain management, treatment options, and self-care techniques
- Delegate and supervise nursing tasks while maintaining accountability for quality patient outcomes
- Document patient care, clinical observations, and treatment responses accurately and timely
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care delivery
- Maintain current clinical knowledge and expertise specific to pain clinic nursing practice
- Demonstrate professional certification as required by Michigan State Board of Nursing or community standards
REQUIRED:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
- Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to develop effective nursing care plans
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
REQUIRED:
- Current BLS or ACLS certification per Henry Ford Health policy
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Previous experience in pre- and post-operative care or pain clinic nursing
- Specialty-specific certification (e.g., Oncology Certified Nurse [OCN]) or willingness to obtain when required by Michigan State Board of Nursing or community standards
- Experience with interdisciplinary healthcare team collaboration
