Position Overview: Equipment Operator is responsible for controlling and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency on construction sites.

• Safely, accurately, and efficiently operate various pieces of heavy equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance: clean work areas, conduct inspections, and lubricate/general maintenance to keep equipment in safe operating condition.
• Follow safety protocols: adhere to safety regulations and workplace standards, obey traffic laws, and participate in weekly safety meetings (Tool Box Talks).
• Load and unload materials or equipment as required.
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, incidents, and defects to supervisors.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and maintain a professional attitude with coworkers and the public.

• Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to the assigned job site in proper work attire and ready to begin at the designated start time.
• Wear PPE, steel-toed footwear, and safety glasses as required.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience helping operate or working around heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• CDL preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening and testing.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures, and PPE policies.

• Outdoor job site working in extreme weather conditions and for extended hours.
• Exposure to noise, dirt, grease, and dust typical of construction projects.
• Regular work near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
• Exposure to substances such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt, and concrete.
• Work near moving mechanical parts; uneven surfaces; varying weather conditions; exposure to wet, humid conditions and extreme temperatures.
• Occasional exposure to vibration.
• Noise level may require protective equipment at some facilities.

• Reading and interpreting safety rules and operating/maintenance instructions; writing routine reports; effective hearing and speaking to colleagues.
• Mathematical ability to handle measurements and calculations; interpret graphs as needed.
• Problem-solving and ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Vision requirements include color, near, distance, peripheral, depth, and focus.
• Physical ability to climb, balance, and work on ladders or scaffolds; move on uneven surfaces; walk, stand, sit, bend, kneel, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Flexible schedule based on project needs.
