Field Service Technician

About Us

This position will be based in the Detroit, MI area and surrounding region.

Field Service Technician – responsible for installation, repair, troubleshooting, servicing, and calibration of high‑tech machines at customer sites. Will provide customer service, support cross‑functional service groups, and assist R&D with engineering work, design, build, and new system testing. Will also support system production during assembly and setup stages.

• Install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate advanced machinery at customer locations.
• Demonstrate strong customer‑service skills with passion and dedication.
• Learn new skills on high‑tech Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Complete required administrative paperwork accurately.
• Solve problems independently in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced, innovative environment.
• Travel 90‑100% within the service area, including international travel as needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned.

• High school graduate or GED; AS/BS in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, or related field; or 4 years related experience.
• Experience with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Microsoft operating‑system proficiency.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Available to work a minimum of 50 hours per week (including overtime).
• Capable of working on an industrial production shop floor.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service aptitude.

• Prior experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
• Experience with CMM installation and troubleshooting.

The pay for this role may be influenced by factors such as location, scope, qualifications, education, experience, and complexity/specialization of talent. The position may also be eligible for a performance bonus.
