Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: 1100 Technology Dr, Jackson, MI 49201

Shift timings: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday

Employment type: Contract – Long Term

Pay range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • During your shift as a Maintenance Mechanic IV (ECT-Chemetall), you will:
  • Understand and comply with facility safety rules and regulations.
  • Work in a chemical hazardous area with appropriate PPE.
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment including liquid pumps, centrifugal pumps, gears, air motors, valves, actuators, conveyors, HVAC, boilers, and air compressors.
  • Create fabricated equipment as needed, using metal welding (TIG, MIG, Stick), metal cutting, plasma, and angle grinders.
  • Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunction through visual inspection, listening for irregular noises, and scheduled testing.
  • Identify and respond to signs of malfunction and troubleshoot production machinery.
  • Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance and service for equipment.
  • Perform emergency repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic machinery.
  • Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain inspection, service, and testing schedules.
  • Comply with work orders concerning service, modification, or installation of machinery.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fabrication preferred.
  • Ability to work with hand tools and power tools.
  • Willingness to learn and perform pipe fitting and welding.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, metal fabrication, and electrical preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work first shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) and second shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM).
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends and overtime.
  • NOTE:

    This position has the potential to work at heights for a short duration.

Additional Information: The role may involve weekend and overtime work and working with hazardous materials under proper PPE.
