Industrial Electrician

Location: Jackson, MI
Pay: $39.42/hour + $0.65/hour shift premium
Sign-On Bonus: $2,500

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join a heavy industrial manufacturing operation in Jackson, MI. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, calibrating, testing, and programming complex electrical and electronic equipment supporting steel production and plant operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong industrial electrical maintenance experience and be comfortable troubleshooting PLC systems, AC/DC motors, electrical drives, and electrical systems up to 480V.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic controls and systems.
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, PLCs, electrical drives, and systems up to 480V.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and machinery rounds.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems for motors, pumps, cranes, HVAC equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and mobile equipment.
  • Install and maintain complex electronically controlled equipment, control panels, distribution systems, and automated production equipment.
  • Balance electrical loads and wire complex circuits.
  • Use diagnostic equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, voltage meters, and other electrical testing equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Document completed repairs, maintenance activities, and material usage.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Verifiable technical or electrical maintenance training.
  • 3–5+ years of heavy industrial electrical maintenance experience.
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC motor theory.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs and electrical drives.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
