Contracts Administration Manager

The Contracts Administration Manager, officially classified as a Project Manager II, supports the Accounting and Finance Division through the administration, review, and monitoring of agency contracts, leases, and related procurement activities. This position assists in maintaining effective internal controls, supporting proper segregation of duties, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of contract-related matters. Work requires strong analytical and reasoning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise sound business judgment when coordinating with internal staff and external control agencies.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, review, manage, and monitor Mississippi Development Authority contracts and leases to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between MDA and applicable control agencies regarding contract and lease matters.
  • Coordinate and oversee competitive procurement activities related to contracts and leases.
  • Maintain and update the agency's contract tracking database to support accurate records, reporting, and internal controls.
  • Process, review, and track budget adjustments in accordance with applicable agency procedures.
  • Review and approve agency payments in MAGIC, as assigned, to support proper financial processing and accountability.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the Accounting and Finance Division.

What you'll need to be successful:

Knowledge of agency contracts and leases. Excellent time-management, organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong reasoning skills, analytical capabilities, and sound business judgment. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience.

Education and experience requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field such as business or accounting.

Experience:

Typically requires two to four years of relevant experience. Preferred experience includes knowledge of contract administration, lease management, competitive procurement processes, budget adjustments, and agency payment processing.
