The OpportunityState Street Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and handling accounts receivable functions for a portfolio of companies within the organization.
This position is well suited for a recent accounting graduate or an experienced accounting professional looking to expand their accounting responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned companies
- Record daily transactions and post journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Post tenant receipts and maintain accounts receivable records
- Review lease renewals and ensure charges agree with lease terms
- Work with property managers to resolve account discrepancies
- Assist with special accounting projects as needed
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field with significant accounting coursework, or equivalent accounting experience
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience with Yardi or other property-management software
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to create and troubleshoot formulas
- Experience working with multiple entities
