Phi Theta Kappa is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level Accounting Associate to join our Financial Services team in Jackson, MS. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is eager tobuild hands-on experience in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
You’ll gain exposure to a variety of core accounting functions including reconciliations, journal entries,and financial reporting while contributing to the financial operations of a mission-driven organization
that supports student success.

- Support credit card reconciliation and reporting
- Communicate with internal teams to provide financial information and support
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

- Comfortable working with numbers and data
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum of associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or at least one year of relevant experience in basic accounting functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic computer applications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes
- Noise:
This work environment is an office-like setting with moderate noise. - Physical Exertion:
The incumbent may frequently be required to lift approximately 10pounds and/or occasionally up to 25 pounds. - Vision:
The incumbent must possess close, midrange, distance and peripheral vision; as well as the ability to identify colors, judge distances, and adjust focus. - Speaking/Hearing:
The incumbent must be able to give and receive information throughspeaking and listening. - Motor Coordination:
The incumbent in this position is frequently required to: use their handsand reach with their hands and arms. The incumbent is occasionally required to: stand, walk,and stoop, kneel, crouch or bend.
