The Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration is the primary agency responsible for State government financial and administrative operations including employee payroll, vendor payments, employee insurance, construction, maintenance, and protection of State buildings in the Capitol Complex, financial information management systems, management of the State’s vehicle fleet, and numerous other related activities.

This position is in the Bureau of Financial Documents (BFD) within the Office of Fiscal Management. The Bureau of Financial Management (BFM) is responsible for maintaining and archiving the financial records for all state agencies. BFD is also responsible for providing accounting reconciliations, balancing and some testing services for the State’s portal, Mississippi.

Gov. This position will focus on vendor file maintenance, travel, and any other assigned duties by the BFD Director.

This position will require knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and the ability to work with a complex accounting system independently. The successful candidate is a team player with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, data processing skills, and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of accounting-related, data management, and customer relations experience.
