Mobile Operations Specialist

Salary: $46,554.96 - $60,490.03 annually
Full‑Time
The Mobile Operations Specialist operates and maintains the "Winnie" Mobile WIN Job Center, a 36‑foot mobile unit used at job fairs, outreach events, and community locations throughout Mississippi.
Responsibilities include:
- Driving and operating the mobile unit in compliance with MDES and state safety regulations.
- Preparing, setting up, and dismantling equipment, technology, and materials for each event.
- Performing basic technical setup of computers, networking, and related equipment to ensure unit readiness.
- Transporting and handling equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Providing on‑site assistance to employers, job seekers, and staff during events.
- Supporting the Governor’s Job Fair Network with reporting, business outreach, and other program activities.
- Maintaining the mobile unit’s travel and event calendar in collaboration with GJFN staff.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Required:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a regular driver’s license.
- Extensive background‑check clearance.
- Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time‑management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with internet‑based applications and email.
- Working knowledge of workforce or employment programs offered by MDES or similar agencies.
- Basic computer networking, Wi‑Fi setup, and troubleshooting knowledge.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited 4‑year college/university in Business Administration, Workforce Development, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience operating a commercial, promotional, or outreach vehicle or trailer.
- 2–4 years of experience coordinating public events, job fairs, or community outreach programs.
